Description

(±)13-HpODE (13-hydroperoxylinoleic acid) is a racemic mixture of hydroperoxides, which is produced by the oxidation of linoleic acid by lipoxygenase[1].

In Vitro

A lipoxygenase involved in sex determination in maize, which was predicted to be a 13-lipoxygenase and has a phenylalanine in this position, actually produces a 1:1 mixture of (±)13-HpODE (13-hydroperoxylinoleic acid) and 9-HPOD[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
