Description

Substance P (5-11), the C-terminal heptapeptide of Substance P (Substance P (HY-P0201)), is a neuropeptide. Substance P (5-11) binds to NK-1 tachykinin receptor[1].

In Vitro

When a fraction from rabbit brain enriched in glial cells was incubated with [3H]Substance P (5-11), an uptake of [3H]Substance P (5-11) is observed. When Substance P is released from nerve terminals, it is hydrolysed into Substance P (5-11), which is in turn accumulated into glial cells as well as nerve terminals and that this high affinity uptake mechanism may play an important role in terminating the synaptic action of Substance P[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
