Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine
Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine is an orally active, long-acting sulfonamide antibacterial agent, which is often administered in combination with Sulfamethazine (HY-B0035). Administration of Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine during pregnancy causes incisor malformations in rat offspring. Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine can be used in the research of bacterial infections.

Biological Activity
Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine (100 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose) administered orally at 100 mg/kg is rapidly excreted in New Zealand white rabbits, with no detectable N1-glucuronide formed and unchanged drug accounting for 36% of the 24-hour urinary excretion[1].
Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine (100 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose) administered orally at 100 mg/kg is slowly excreted in Wistar albino rats, with unchanged drug accounting for 58% of the 24-hour urinary excretion and only 7% consisting of the N1-glucuronide metabolite[1].
Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine (100 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) administered intraperitoneally at 100 mg/kg shows 24-hour urinary excretion of 22% in Wistar albino rats, which is more than three times the excretion seen after oral administration[1].
Sulphadimethoxypyrimidine (100 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) administered intraperitoneally at 100 mg/kg is excreted in bile of cannulated Wistar albino rats, with 19.0% of the dose recovered in 24 hours and the N4-glucuronide accounting for the majority of biliary metabolites[1].
