Tetrahydroswertianolin (Compound 1) is a tetrahydroxyxanthone glycoside that can be isolated from the whole plant of Swertia japonica Makino. Tetrahydroswertianolin reduces the elevated blood ALT levels in mice with immune-induced liver injury and exhibits protective activity against liver injury. Tetrahydroswertianolin can be used in studies related to anthelmintic, antipyretic and immune-induced liver injury.

Description

Tetrahydroswertianolin (Compound 1) is a tetrahydroxyxanthone glycoside that can be isolated from the whole plant of Swertia japonica Makino. Tetrahydroswertianolin reduces the elevated blood ALT levels in mice with immune-induced liver injury and exhibits protective activity against liver injury. Tetrahydroswertianolin can be used in studies related to anthelmintic, antipyretic and immune-induced liver injury[1].

In Vivo

Tetrahydroswertianolin (Compound 1) (25-50 mg/kg, s.c., single administration) reduces blood ALT levels and exhibits significant, dose-dependent hepatoprotective effects in a mouse liver injury model induced by D-galactosamine and LPS (HY-D1056)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
