Tiadinil is a systemic acquired resistance (SAR) inducer, plant elicitor and antifungal agent. Tiadinil promotes the production of herbivore-induced plant volatiles in Camellia sinensis (tea plant). Tiadinil inhibits mycelial growth, spore germination and germ tube elongation of Stagonosporopsis citrulli in vitro. Tiadinil can be used in studies related to vine blight.

Description

Tiadinil is a systemic acquired resistance (SAR) inducer, plant elicitor and antifungal agent. Tiadinil promotes the production of herbivore-induced plant volatiles in Camellia sinensis (tea plant). Tiadinil inhibits mycelial growth, spore germination and germ tube elongation of Stagonosporopsis citrulli in vitro. Tiadinil can be used in studies related to vine blight[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Tiadinil (5-500 μg/L; 24 h prior to T. kanzawai infestation) enhances the synthesis of the predator-attracting volatile (E,E)-α-farnesene in Yabukita tea plants (Camellia sinensis 'Yabukita') fed on by Tetranychus kanzawai (Kanzawa spider mite). Among the tested concentrations, the strongest effect is observed on the 7th and 10th days after feeding at 500 μg/L[1].
Tiadinil (0.1-5000 ppm; 10 days) directly inhibits the mycelial growth of Stagonosporopsis citrulli strain Db-31 in vitro, with an EC50 of 0.37 ppm[3].
Tiadinil (0.1-5000 ppm) directly inhibits conidial germination (EC50 = 33.77 ppm) and germ tube elongation (EC50 = 21.65 ppm) of the Stagonosporopsis citrulli isolate Db-31 in vitro[3].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
