Tyrocidine A TFA
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Tyrocidine A TFA is an amphipathic cyclic decapeptide natural product, as well as a membrane-disrupting agent and an antibacterial agent. Tyrocidine A TFA exhibits moderate activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Tyrocidine A TFA can insert into bacterial cell membranes, form porous channels, disrupt membrane integrity and induce bacterial cell death. Tyrocidine A TFA can be used in studies related to bacterial infections.

Biological Activity
Tyrocidine A TFA (overnight treatment) exhibits moderate antibacterial activity against Gram-positive strains (MIC 16-32 μg/mL) at a calcium ion concentration of 25 mg/L, while it shows no activity against Gram-negative E. coli ATCC 25922 (MIC >128 μg/mL); its activity decreases moderately at a calcium ion concentration of 50 mg/L[1].
