Description

6-TAMRA (6-Carboxytetramethylrhodamine) is a fluorescent dye. 6-TAMRA is often used in combination with 6-FAM (HY-66021) as an acceptor or fluorescence quencher for fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) in biochemical studies such as potassium ion detection and ribonuclease activity assays[1][2].

In Vitro

6-TAMRA, in the form of succinimidyl ester, undergoes conjugation with 3'-amino-modified oligonucleotides via incubation at 37℃ for 12 h in a pH 8.5 sodium bicarbonate buffer, and is further used as a 3'-end labeling dye for fluorescence quenching[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
