Description

Calcitetrol (1α, 24, 25-Trihydroxy VD3), a Vitamin D3 (HY-15398) metabolite, is the hormonally active form of vitamin D. Calcitetrol participates in regulation of Treg cells. Calcitetrol can be used for the research of Toxoplasma gondii infection[1].

In Vitro

Calcitetrol undergoes further metabolism by recombinant rat kidney calcidiol 24-hydroxylase (P450cc24) into 24-oxo-1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, which converts to 24-oxo-1,23,25-trihydroxyvitamin D3[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Calcitetrol is upregulated in the cerebral cortex of T. gondii-infected BALB/C mice at 14 and 21 days post-infection and qualifies as a T. gondii-responsive metabolite[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
