1. GPCR/G Protein
  2. Orphan GPCR Angiotensin Receptor
  3. AAA

AAA is an orally active 20-HETE receptor antagonist. AAA exerts antihypertensive and organoprotective effects. AAA blocks 20-HETE prohypertensive actions, suppresses intrarenal and circulating angiotensin II levels, and interferes with renin-angiotensin system interactions. AAA attenuates development of, and reverses established, ANG II (HY-13948)-dependent malignant hypertension. AAA reduces albuminuria, glomerulosclerosis, and cardiac hypertrophy linked to malignant hypertension. AAA can be used for the research of malignant hypertension.

Description

AAA is an orally active 20-HETE receptor antagonist. AAA exerts antihypertensive and organoprotective effects. AAA blocks 20-HETE prohypertensive actions, suppresses intrarenal and circulating angiotensin II levels, and interferes with renin-angiotensin system interactions. AAA attenuates development of, and reverses established, ANG II (HY-13948)-dependent malignant hypertension. AAA reduces albuminuria, glomerulosclerosis, and cardiac hypertrophy linked to malignant hypertension. AAA can be used for the research of malignant hypertension[1].

In Vivo

AAA (10 mg/kg; p.o.; in water; daily; 12 days) attenuates and reverses the development of ANG II (HY-13948)-dependent malignant hypertension in Cyp1a1-Ren-2 transgenic rats, reduces associated renal and cardiac injury, and suppresses elevated intrarenal ANG II levels and plasma ACE activity[1].
AAA (10 mg/kg; p.o.; in water; daily; 3 days) rapidly restores impaired renal hemodynamics and vascular responsiveness in Cyp1a1-Ren-2 transgenic rats with established malignant hypertension[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Cyp1a1-Ren-2 transgenic (male; malignant hypertension model induced by 0.3% indole-3-carbinol dietary administration)[1]
Dosage: 10 mg/kg per day
Administration: P.o.; daily; 12 days
Result: Reduced SBP elevation to 161 ± 3 mmHg (vs. 199 ± 3 mmHg in untreated I3C-induced rats).
Attenuated albuminuria, glomerulosclerosis index, and cardiac hypertrophy.
Lowered elevated kidney ANG II levels from 405 ± 14 fmol/g to 72 ± 6 fmol/g.
Prevented body weight loss, hunched posture, piloerection, and polydipsia associated with untreated malignant hypertension.

In Vivo:

For the following dissolution methods, please prepare the working solution directly. It is recommended to prepare fresh solutions and use them promptly within a short period of time.
The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
