  2. Fungal Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) Endothelin-Converting Enzyme (ECE)
  3. AB-22

AB-22, a vinyl sulfate compound, is an orally active antifungal agent. AB-22 inhibits hyphal growth and biofilm initiation by inhibiting the gene expression of ALS3, HWP1, and ECE1 in Candida albicans SC5314 cells. AB-22 can be used for the research of infrction, such as systemic candidiasis.

Description

AB-22, a vinyl sulfate compound, is an orally active antifungal agent. AB-22 inhibits hyphal growth and biofilm initiation by inhibiting the gene expression of ALS3, HWP1, and ECE1 in Candida albicans SC5314 cells. AB-22 can be used for the research of infrction, such as systemic candidiasis[1].

In Vitro

AB-22 (4 μg/mL; 30-120 mins) delays germ tube formation of SC5314 cells[1].
AB-22 (0.25-3 h) inhibits hyphal growth and biofilm initiation by inhibiting the gene expression of ALS3, HWP1, and ECE1 in SC5314 cells[1].
AB-22 (0.5-4 μg/mL; 24 hours) inhibits hyphal growth of SC5314 cells[1].
AB-22 (1-4 μg/mL; 24 hours) inhibits biofilm formation of SC5314 cells[1].

In Vivo

AB-22 (20-30 mg/kg, twice a day for 5 days or 300 mg/kg, a single dose; p.o.) improves survival in ICR mice infected with ATCC90028 cells[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
