In Vitro

Antitubercular agent-59 (Compound 6k) potently inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv whole cells with an IC50 of 213 nM[1].
Antitubercular agent-59 shows moderate metabolic clearance in rat hepatocytes and human liver microsomes[1].

Animal Model: Chronic mouse infection model of TB[1]
Dosage: 100 mg/kg
Administration: I.g.; daily 5 days per week; 4 weeks
Result: Reduced CFU counts to 5.18 log10 CFU/lung when treated with 1-Aminobenzotriazole (100 mg/kg).
Had a mean log10 CFU/lung of 5.97, which was not significantly different from that of untreated control when treated with 6k alone at 100 mg/kg.
