Guide (The following is our recommended protocol. This protocol is only a guide and should be modified according to your specific needs).
Take fruit flies as an example for biological samples[2]
1) Starve the fruit flies in 0.5% agarose aqueous solution for 18 h to induce hunger.
2) Transfer the hungry fruit flies to standard diet and feed for 15 min to initiate feeding behavior.
3) Transfer the fruit flies to a vial containing Indigo-dyed diet (the Indigo content in the standard diet is 1%) and continue feeding for 15 min.
4) After feeding, observe the color of the fruit fly abdomen under an optical microscope: a blue abdomen indicates that the fruit fly has ingested the indigo-dyed diet, and a white abdomen indicates that the fruit fly has not ingested it.
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
