MIH-36

MIH-36 is a VEGFR-2 modulator and anticancer agent. MIH-36 decreases VEGFR-2 surface expression in cells while upregulating VEGFR-2 mRNA. MIH-36 induces Apoptosis. MIH-36 exhibits selective anticancer activity against luminal and triple-negative breast cancer. MIH-36 can be used for research on breast cancer.

MIH-36 (12.5-400 μM; 48 h) inhibits the proliferation of MCF-7 (IC₅₀ 13.74 μM) and MDA-MB-231 (IC₅₀ 18.9 μM), with lower cytotoxicity against L929 cells (IC₅₀ 49.40 μM)^[1].
MIH-36 (48 h) inhibited scratch wound closure in MCF-7 cells compared with the control^[1].
MIH-36 (48 h) inhibited scratch wound closure in MDA-MB-231 compared with the control^[1].
MIH-36 (48 h) reduced the percentage of VEGFR-2 surface-positive cells in MDA-MB-231 (80.4%) and MCF-7 (32.9%) and altered the MFI, indicating modulation of surface VEGFR-2^[1].

MIH-36 (48 h) increased the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio in MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 cells, consistent with pro-apoptotic signaling^[1].
