GPRP

GPRP (Gly-Pro-Arg-Pro; Pefa 6003) is a fibrin polymerization inhibitor that inhibits the interaction between fibrinogen and the platelet membrane glycoprotein Ⅱb/IIIa complex (glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor). GPRP increases the level of free thrombin in activated platelet-rich plasma by reducing the adsorption of thrombin onto fibrin. GPRP inhibits platelet aggregation and prolongs the thrombin-initiated clotting time in plasma. GPRP is applicable for research related to thrombosis and thrombotic diseases.

Activité biologique
GPRP (2-4 mM; 60 seconds) enhances the generation of free thrombin in human platelet-rich plasma. Specifically, 2 mM GPRP increases the thrombin peak level to 400 nM and the area under the curve to 1090 nM·min; 4 mM GPRP raises the thrombin peak level to 450 nM and the area under the curve to 1245 nM·min[1].
GPRP binds reversibly to the D fragment of human fibrinogen with an association constant of 5×104 M-1, but does not bind to the E fragment of human fibrinogen[2].
GPRP prolongs the clotting time of citrated human plasma induced by thrombin, with a relative inhibitory potency of 100%[2].
GPRP dose-dependently inhibits the reaggregation of human fibrin monomers, with a relative fibrin polymerization inhibitory efficacy of 100%[2].
