Mandipropamid
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Mandipropamid is a cellulose synthase (CesA3) inhibitor and fungicide, with an IC50 of 19.8 nM against Phytophthora infestans. Mandipropamid inhibits the synthesis of crystalline cellulose on the cell surface, disrupts the cell wall structure of oomycetes, and induces germ tube tip swelling and growth arrest in Phytophthora infestans. S-Mandipropamid, an isomer of Mandipropamid, exhibits enantioselective acute toxicity to zebrafish embryos and larvae. Mandipropamid is applicable to studies related to plant infections.

Activité biologique
Mandipropamid (MPD) (68 nM; 1-3 h) induces reversible growth arrest and swelling of germ tube tips in germinated Phytophthora infestans sporangia[1].
Mandipropamid (17-68 nM; 6 h) potently inhibits crystalline cellulose synthesis in germinating sporangia of Phytophthora infestans, with an IC50 of 19.8 nM, and this inhibitory effect occurs before detectable changes in glucose uptake or germ tube growth[1].
Mandipropamid (0.01-35 mM; 7 days) causes homozygous EMS mutants Tmut3 and Tmut7 of Phytophthora infestans to exhibit stable high-level insensitivity to Mandipropamid. Specifically, Tmut3 shows unimpaired growth at concentrations up to 35 mM, while expression of the mutant PiCesA3G1105V allele in a wild-type background confers partial insensitivity[1].
Mandipropamid causes the Phytophthora infestans mutant strains Tmut3 and Tmut7 to exhibit a resistance factor of over 1512-fold against its induced inhibition of germ tube length, with their IC50 values exceeding 121 μM, whereas the IC50 value of the wild-type T30-4 strain is 0.08 nM[1].
S-Mandipropamid potently inhibits mycelial growth of Phytophthora capsici, Phytophthora sojae, Phytophthora melonis, Phytophthora nicotianae, Phytophthora infestans and Peronophythora litchii, with EC50 values ranging from 0.007 to 0.021 mg/L[2].
The EC50 of S-Mandipropamid for 7-day growth inhibition of Spirodela polyrhiza is 14.86 mg/L[2].
