Description

Cladobotric acid E is a potent antimicrobial agent that can be found in mycoparasitic fungi and a New Zealand Cladobotryum species. Cladobotric acid E inhibits growth of Candida auris, multiple Aspergillus species, Candida albicans, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Cladosporium resinae. Cladobotric acid E can be used for the research of aspergillosis, candidiasis, leukemia, bacterial infection, fungal infection[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Cladobotric acid E (2-64 µg/mL) potently inhibits growth of azole-sensitive and azole-resistant Candida auris strains with MICs of 2-4 µg/mL and shows moderate to weak activity against Aspergillus species with MICs of 8-64 µg/mL[1].
Cladobotric acid E (0.1-10 µg/disc; 48 h) inhibits growth of Aspergillus fumigatus IFM 61493, Aspergillus lentulus IFM 62073, Aspergillus felis IFM 62093, and Aspergillus udagawae IFM 62100 in a paper disc assay, with the largest inhibition zone (17 mm) observed against A. udagawae at 3 µg/disc[2].
Cladobotric acid E (1-256 µg/mL; 48-72 h) inhibits growth of Aspergillus fumigatus IFM 61493 with an MIC of 16 µg/mL, and Aspergillus lentulus IFM 62073, Aspergillus felis IFM 62093, and Aspergillus udagawae IFM 62100 each with an MIC of 32 µg/mL in a microdilution assay[2].
Cladobotric acid E potently inhibits the growth of murine P388 leukemia cells with an IC50 of 1.41 μM[3].
Cladobotric acid E (100 μg/disc) inhibits the growth of Bacillus subtilis with a 4 mm inhibition zone at a concentration of 100 μg/disc[3].
Cladobotric acid E (100 μg/disc) inhibits the growth of Candida albicans with a 5 mm inhibition zone at a concentration of 100 μg/disc[3].
Cladobotric acid E (100 μg/disc) inhibits the growth of Trichophyton mentagrophytes with a 2 mm inhibition zone at a concentration of 100 μg/disc[3].
Cladobotric acid E (100 μg/disc) inhibits the growth of Cladosporium resinae with a 1 mm inhibition zone at a concentration of 100 μg/disc[3].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
