Cat. No.: HY-N8460
Handling Instructions

Cortisol sulfate (Cortisol 21-sulfate) is a metabolite of Cortisol (HY-N0583). Cortisol sulfate is a specific ligand for intracellular transcortin.

At equivalent molar concentrations, both the salt and free forms of a compound exhibit comparable biological activity. Nevertheless, the salt form (Cortisol sulfate sodium) usually boasts enhanced water solubility and stability.

Description

Cortisol sulfate (Cortisol 21-sulfate) is a metabolite of Cortisol (HY-N0583). Cortisol sulfate is a specific ligand for intracellular transcortin[1][2][3].

In Vivo

Cortisol sulfate (3 mg; i.m.; every other day; for 2-7 weeks) affects behavior through its direct action on the central nervous system[4].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Male Wistar-King rats[4]
Dosage: 3 mg
Administration: Intramuscular injection, every other day, for 2-7 weeks
Result: Had significant stimulatory effects on the animal's exploratory behaviors (ambulation and rearing), when the treatments were started soon after weaning (postnatal day 21-24).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
