(-)-DMNP
(-)-DMNP is an inhibitor targeting RelZ and Rel_Msm, with activity against mycobacteria. (-)-DMNP binds to structurally similar sites of RelZ and Rel_Msm, thereby inhibiting (p) ppGpp synthesis activity. (-)-DMNP inhibits the formation of persistent mycobacterial cells and eradicates their biofilms. (-)-DMNP can be used in the research of bacterial infections and tuberculosis.

Biological Activity
(-)-DMNP (1.06 mM; 0-48 h) potently reduces persister cell survival in stationary-phase Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2 155 cells, with greater activity than racemic DMNP and no activity observed from the (+)-DMNP enantiomer[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Cell Line:Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2 155 wild-type strain
-
Concentration:1.06 mM
-
Incubation Time:0-48 h
-
Result:Reduced survivor cell numbers in stationary-phase cells, with survival declining to near undetectable levels by 24 h.
Exhibited slightly greater activity than racemic DMNP mixture.
Showed far greater activity than (+)-DMNP, which had no noticeable antipersister activity.
