Hepaxanthin (5,6-Monoepoxy vitamin A; Vitamin A epoxide; 5,6-Epoxyretinol) is an inactive carotenoid. Hepaxanthin is metabolite of 5,6-monoepoxyvitamin A aldehyde, and accumulates in liver.
