InhA-IN-12
InhA-IN-12 is a mycobacterial inhibitor. InhA-IN-12 exhibits concentration- and time-dependent bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and shows intracellular antimycobacterial activity in infected macrophages. InhA-IN-12 interferes with the InhA-related mycolic acid biosynthesis pathway, and is predicted to fit into the active site and form a stable InhA-ligand complex. InhA-IN-12 has low cytotoxicity toward mammalian cells and high selectivity for mycobacteria. InhA-IN-12 can be used in tuberculosis-related research.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
InhA-IN-12 shows significantly reduced activity against isoniazid-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis mc2 8243, with an MIC >32 μg/mL[1].
InhA-IN-12 has a CC50 >100 μg/mL in HepG2 cells, with a selectivity index >200 against Mycobacterium tuberculosis mc2 6230[1].
InhA-IN-12 (1-8× MIC; 5-10 days) exhibits concentration- and time-dependent bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis mc2 6230[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Cell Line:M. tuberculosis mc2 6230
-
Concentration:1, 4 and 8× MIC
-
Incubation Time:5 day and 10 day
-
Result:Exhibited bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis mc2 6230 in a concentration- and time-dependent manner; treatment at 8× MIC for 5 days resulted in a reduction of approximately 3 log10 CFU, while treatment at 4-8× MIC for 10 days brought the colony count close to the limit of detection.
