Calcitetrol undergoes further metabolism by recombinant rat kidney calcidiol 24-hydroxylase (P450cc24) into 24-oxo-1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, which converts to 24-oxo-1,23,25-trihydroxyvitamin D3[2].
