Mcl-1-IN-21 is a selective Mcl-1 protein inhibitor. Mcl-1-IN-21 can induce apoptosis, elevate intracellular ROS, reduce mitochondrial membrane potential, exert cytotoxicity against human cervical cancer cells, and inhibit tumor growth in a human cervical cancer xenograft mouse model. Mcl-1-IN-21 can be used for the research of cervical cancer[1].

In Vitro

Mcl-1-IN-21 (compound 9k) (48 h) exhibits potent cytotoxicity against Hela cells (IC50 = 9.55 μM) and moderate activity against MGC-803, HepG2, and LO-2 cells[1].
Mcl-1-IN-21 (5-20 μM; 24 h) induces chromatin condensation in Hela cells at 10 μM and 20 μM after 24 h[1].
Mcl-1-IN-21 (5-20 μM; 24 h) can induce dose-dependent accumulation of ROS in Hela cells after 24 h and reduce mitochondrial membrane potential[1].
Mcl-1-IN-21 (5-20 μM; 24 h) induces concentration-dependent apoptosis in Hela cells after 24 h[1].

Mcl-1-IN-21 (compound 9k) (5-10 mg/kg; i.p.; once every other day; 21 days) exhibits dose-dependent antitumor activity in Hela xenograft mice with 17% and 21% tumor growth inhibition at 5 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg, respectively, and no obvious toxicity[1].
