mCPX is a prodrug of the antifungal agent Ciclopirox olamine (CPX) (HY-B0450A). CPX exhibits bacteriostatic and iron-chelating activities, while mCPX enhances the iron stability of CPX. mCPX inherits the core mechanism pathway of CPX and can induce EBV lytic reactivation in EBV+ gastric cancer cells via the hypoxia pathway (HIF‑1α). mCPX is applicable to research related to EBV-positive gastric cancer.

Description

mCPX is a prodrug of the antifungal agent Ciclopirox olamine (CPX) (HY-B0450A). CPX exhibits bacteriostatic and iron-chelating activities, while mCPX enhances the iron stability of CPX. mCPX inherits the core mechanism pathway of CPX and can induce EBV lytic reactivation in EBV+ gastric cancer cells via the hypoxia pathway (HIF‑1α). mCPX is applicable to research related to EBV-positive gastric cancer[1].

In Vitro

mCPX induces EBV lytic cycle in SNU719 and AGSBX1 EBV+ gastric cancer cell lines with activity comparable to CPX, and has significantly greater resistance to iron-mediated inactivation[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
