Description

Metconazole is a 14α-demethylation inhibitor (DMI) fungicide. Metconazole inhibits fungal ergosterol biosynthesis, inhibits mycelial growth and conidial germ tube elongation. Metconazole reduces antioxidant enzyme activities. Metconazole reduces occurrence of Fusarium crown rot in wheat[1].

In Vitro

Metconazole (0.001-0.1 μg/mL; 3 days) potently inhibits mycelial growth of 39 Fusarium pseudograminearum strains, with a mean EC50 value of 0.019 μg/mL[1].
Metconazole (0.05-0.2 μg/mL; 6-12 h) inhibits conidial formation, germination, and germ tube elongation of 39 Fusarium pseudograminearum strains[1].
Metconazole (0.02-0.2 μg/mL; 6 h) induces significant transcriptional changes in Fusarium pseudograminearum strain PY20-16, including upregulation of ergosterol biosynthesis genes and nine ABC transporter genes[1].
Metconazole (0.002-0.2 μg/mL; 7 days) at 0.02 and 0.2 μg/mL inhibits DON, 15-ADON, and ZEN production in Fusarium pseudograminearum strains CF1494 and PY20-16, while 0.002 μg/mL stimulates DON and 15-ADON production but still inhibits ZEN production[1].
Metconazole (0.05-0.2 μg/mL; 12 h) significantly reduces ergosterol production in Fusarium pseudograminearum strain PY20-16 in a dose-dependent manner[1].
Metconazole (0.05-0.2 μg/mL) significantly reduces catalase and peroxidase activities in Fusarium pseudograminearum mycelia[1].

In Vivo

Metconazole (0.06-0.14 μl AI/g seeds; seed treatment) provides 32.79-77.24% control efficacy against Fusarium crown rot in wheat under greenhouse conditions[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
