CLEC-6
CLEC-6 (CLEC6A) is a sparsely annotated C-type lectin receptor encoded within the natural-killer gene complex region on chromosome 12, adjacent to other NKG2-family genes. Predicted to adopt the classic type II transmembrane architecture, it presents a single extracellular C-type lectin domain whose ligand specificity has not been demonstrated experimentally. Available expression surveys point to myeloid cells, including macrophages and dendritic cells, as the principal source, consistent with an immunoregulatory rather than lymphoid-restricted role, though direct functional evidence is limited. Recombinant CLEC-6 is therefore mainly used for antibody production, expression profiling, and screening efforts aimed at deorphanizing this receptor.
