IL-23 alpha
Interleukin-23 subunit alpha (IL-23A, p19) is the 19 kDa unique chain of the heterodimeric cytokine IL-23, which also incorporates the p40 subunit shared with IL-12. p19 was discovered in 2000 as an IL-12 p35-related protein; on its own it is biologically inert and is secreted only when disulfide-linked with p40 by activated dendritic cells, macrophages and keratinocytes. The p19/p40 heterodimer binds IL-23R and IL-12Rβ1 on target cells, preferentially activating STAT3 and STAT4 to stabilize the Th17 program. IL-23A-driven IL-23 sustains IL-17A, IL-17F, IL-22 and GM-CSF output from Th17 and γδ T cells, forming the core of the IL-23/IL-17 axis implicated in psoriasis, ankylosing spondylitis, inflammatory bowel disease and multiple sclerosis. Selective blockade of p19 with monoclonal antibodies such as risankizumab, tildrakizumab and mirikizumab produces profound and durable responses in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

The EpCAM/TROP1 protein serves as an important homogeneous interacting molecule that promotes direct contact between intestinal epithelial cells (IEC) and intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) in the mucosal epithelium. This feature helps establish an immune barrier against mucosal infections. EpCAM/TROP1 Protein, Human (His-SUMO) is the recombinant human-derived EpCAM/TROP1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His, N-SUMO labeled tag.
