Schizotenuin A
Schizotenuin A is a Aβ and hIAPP fibrillation inhibitor with human-derived IC50 values of 2.93 µM and 0.58 µM, respectively, and exhibits antioxidant activity. Schizotenuin A scavenges DPPH free radicals and inhibits lipid peroxidation in rat liver microsomes. Schizotenuin A can be used in research related to Alzheimer's disease and type 2 diabetes.

Biological Activity
Schizotenuin A (1-100 μM; 24 h) potently inhibits Aβ42 fibrillization with an IC50 of 2.93 μM in a dose-dependent manner[1].
Schizotenuin A (100 μM; 24 h) significantly reduces and shortens Aβ42 fibrils as visualized by TEM[1].
Schizotenuin A (compound 40) inhibits lipid peroxidation in rat liver microsomes with an IC50 of 36.25 μM, which is more potent than (+)-α-Tocopherol (HY-N0683)[2].
