Nitroxynil is a broad-spectrum veterinary anthelmintic and a substrate of ABCG2. Nitroxynil inhibits ATP production by uncoupling the oxidative phosphorylation process of mitochondria, thereby disrupting the parasite body covering, impairing its motility, and ultimately inducing parasite death. Nitroxynil induces chromosomal aberrations, sister chromatid exchanges and abnormal sperm morphology, and interferes with spermatogenesis. Nitroxynil is widely applicable to studies on fascioliasis, myiasis, Haemonchus spp. infections, and Oestrus ovis infections .

Clioxanide is a potential anti-liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) agent. The results showed that Clioxanide showed no efficacy against 4-week-old or 19-week-old flukes at doses of 135 mg/kg or 200 mg/kg. In contrast, hexachloroethane was very effective against older flukes, reaching 100% efficacy at lower doses. The study pointed out that laboratory mice may not be suitable for screening potential compounds against liver fluke infections in ruminants such as cattle and sheep. In addition, no obvious toxic reactions were observed in mice with Clioxanide .

Tubulozole (R 46846) is an orally active inhibitor of tubulin polymerization with an ID50 of 0.34 μM. Tubulozole induces activation of the Chk1 kinase and phosphorylation of ERK1/2, which is required for microtubule formation. Tubulozole arrests Mitosis at the metaphase stage. Tubulozole causes cells to accumulate in the radiosensitive mitotic phase of the cell cycle. Tubulozole exerts anticancer activity against colon cancer. Tubulozole produces a radiosensitizing effect in mouse tumor models and enhances the tumor growth delay effect when combined with γ-ray irradiation. Tubulozole is used in studies related to colon cancer, fascioliasis, MO4 fibrosarcoma, and Lewis lung carcinoma .
