Description

Trifludimoxazin is a click chemistry reagent, a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor and herbicide. Trifludimoxazin inhibits PPO, accumulates reactive oxygen species, damages cell membranes, and thereby causes weed death. Trifludimoxazin exhibits high-efficiency activity in controlling broadleaf weeds and grassy weeds[1][2].

In Vitro

Trifludimoxazin potently inhibits wild-type and multiple mutant variants of purified A. tuberculatus PPO2 in vitro, with IC50 values as low as 2.45 × 10-10 M for wild-type enzyme, and retains inhibitory activity against most R128(X) ΔG210 double-mutant enzymes[1].
Trifludimoxazin (3.35-12.5 g a.i. ha-1; 7 days post-treatment) reduces growth of transgenic A. thaliana lines ectopically expressing R128(X) ΔG210 double-mutant A. tuberculatus PPO2 at field-relevant doses, with greater efficacy than saflufenacil for most tested mutant variants[1].
Trifludimoxazin maintains binding affinity to ΔG210, R128G, and G399A mutant A. tuberculatus PPO2 proteins via unique interactions with the enzyme's beta-sheet backbone, which are less affected by common target site mutations than interactions of other PPO inhibitors[1].
Trifludimoxazin (2-16 g ai ha-1; 7-20 d postapplication) effectively controls a range of annual broadleaf and grass weed species (including resistant Lolium perenne ssp. multiflorum) in greenhouse postemergence trials when assessed 7 and 20 d postapplication[2].
Trifludimoxazin (2.7 g ai ha-1; 24-72 h after application) shows moderate foliar uptake (20-29% for barnyardgrass, 41-90% for Italian ryegrass) with excellent metabolic stability in barnyardgrass and lower stability in Italian ryegrass, and does not translocate to roots in either grass species when assessed 24 and 72 h postapplication[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
