Voacamidine is an iboga-vobasinyl dimeric monoterpenoid indole alkaloid found in the root bark of Voacanga africana. Voacamidine undergoes cleavage in acid media to produce Voacangine (HY-N7536)^[1].

In Vitro

Voacamidine is isolated as a component of an iboga-vobasine dimer mixture from Voacanga africana root bark, with the proportion of voacamidine higher in acetone-based extractions than in acid-base extractions^[1].
