AChE/BuChE-IN-9
AChE/BuChE-IN-9 is a dual Cholinesterase inhibitor that acts on electric eel acetylcholinesterase (AChE) (IC50 = 14.82 μM) and horse serum butyrylcholinesterase (IC50 = 27.91 μM) through non-competitive and mixed-mode inhibition, respectively. AChE/BuChE-IN-9 can be used for research on Alzheimer's disease.

In Vitro
AChE/BuChE-IN-9 (62.5-1000 μM; 15 min) effectively inhibits AChE (IC50 = 14.82 μM) and BuChE (IC50 = 27.91 μM)[1].
AChE/BuChE-IN-9 acts as a non-competitive inhibitor of AChE (Ki = 1.522 μM) and a mixed-type inhibitor of BuChE (Ki = 0.6550 μM)[1].
AChE/BuChE-IN-9 possesses the optimal HOMO-LUMO energy gap (4.287 eV) and a moderate electrophilicity index (2.923 eV), which correlate with its cholinesterase inhibitory activity[1].

Cell Cytotoxicity Assay
Cytotoxicity assays are usually based on the assessment of cell membrane damage, which can also be indirectly detected by measuring cell viability. Detection methods include MTT assay, CKK-8 assay, LDH assay and ATP assay, etc.

Alzheimer’s Disease Modeling
Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a progressive decline in cognitive functions and loss of specific types of neurons and synapses. Alzheimer's symptoms can be simulated in mice by injecting drugs (such as Aβ) or genetically modified.
