Description

AChE-IN-116 is a selective acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor with an electric eel AChE IC50 of 1.60 μM and Ki of 1.72 μM. AChE-IN-116 exhibits weak ability to scavenge DPPH radical. AChE-IN-116 can be used for the research of Alzheimer's disease[1].

In Vitro

AChE-IN-116 (Compound 9 s) potently and selectively inhibits electric eel AChE with an IC50 of 1.60 μM, showing 29.85-fold greater selectivity for AChE over equine serum BuChE[1].
AChE-IN-116 (0.80-3.20 μM) acts as a mixed-type inhibitor of electric eel AChE with an inhibition constant (Ki) of 1.72 μM[1].
AChE-IN-116 binds simultaneously to the catalytic active site (CAS) and peripheral anionic site (PAS) of human AChE, but only binds to the CAS of human BuChE, consistent with its selective AChE inhibition[1].
AChE-IN-116 exhibits an IC50 of 419.24 μM against DPPH radical[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
