Description

Bispyribac is an acetolactate synthase inhibitor that can be used as a systemic post-emergence herbicide for control of weeds in agriculture. Bispyribac blocks the amino acid synthesis. Bispyribac has low acute toxicity in animal models[1].

In Vivo

Bispyribac (p.o.; single dose) exhibits an acute oral LD50 of 4111 mg/kg in male rats and 2635 mg/kg in female rats, and exhibits an acute oral LD50 of 3524 mg/kg in male and female mice, indicating low acute oral toxicity[1].
Bispyribac (enteral; single dose) reaches peak plasma concentrations 1-2 hours after enteral administration in Rattus norvegicus, has an apparent elimination half-life of 5-7 hours, and is primarily eliminated unchanged in feces via biliary excretion[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
