Bovine Thyrotropin
Bovine Thyrotropin is a pituitary glycoprotein hormone derived from cattle, with identical properties to thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). Bovine Thyrotropin stimulates thyroid function and is used to differentiate between primary and secondary hypothyroidism. Bovine Thyrotropin can induce increased radioactive iodine uptake in metastatic thyroid cancer lesions, and long-term administration leads to the production of neutralizing antibodies and hemagglutinating antibodies. Bovine Thyrotropin is applicable to research related to metastatic thyroid cancer.

Bovine thyrotropin (80-400 mU/mL; 15 min) dose-dependently stimulates adenylate cyclase in bovine thyroid plasma membranes, reaching maximal activity at 300 mU/mL, with higher concentrations causing inhibition; this stimulatory activity is completely blocked by concurrent incubation with crude hCG but not purified hCG[1].
