Description

Hericenone C is a metabolite derived from Hericium erinaceus. Hericenone C inhibits LPS (HY-D1056)-induced NRE::Luc luciferase activity, reduces phosphorylation of p65 and inhibits NF-κB signaling. Hericenone C exhibits neuroprotective effect[1].

In Vitro

Hericenone C (2.5-20 μM, 1 h) inhibits luciferase activity and reduces p-P65 levels in LPS (HY-D1056)-induced NIH3T3 cells expressing NRE::Luc[1].
Hericenone C (40 μM, 1 h) inhibits the Formalin-induced increase in IL-6 mRNA expression and reduces the percentage of CD11c-positive cells in RAW264.7 cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Hericenone C (2.5-10 mg/kg, i.p., 45 mins before formalin) inhibits the licking/biting time of the second phase (10-45 min) in Formalin-induced nociceptive model of male ICR mice[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Formalin-induced nociceptive model of male ICR mice[1]
Dosage: 2.5, 5 and 10 mg/kg
Administration: Intraperitoneally injection, 45 mins before formalin
Result: Reduced licking/biting timeof the second phase (10-45 min).
Showed no significant effect on the first phase (0-10 min).
Reduced the accumulation of CD11c-positive cells in the paw epidermis and inhibited the activation of p-P65 in CD11c-positive cells.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
