Bispyribac is an acetolactate synthase inhibitor that can be used as a systemic post-emergence herbicide for control of weeds in agriculture. Bispyribac blocks the amino acid synthesis. Bispyribac has low acute toxicity in animal models.

Biological Activity
Bispyribac (enteral; single dose) reaches peak plasma concentrations 1-2 hours after enteral administration in Rattus norvegicus, has an apparent elimination half-life of 5-7 hours, and is primarily eliminated unchanged in feces via biliary excretion[1].
