Adenosine tetraphosphate (0.03 μmole-20 minutes) is essentially inactive as a phosphate donor in the hexokinase assay, producing less than 1% of the ATP rate^[2].

Nucleotide Metabolism

Adenosine tetraphosphate (0.05 μmole-5 minutes) does not donate phosphate to A5P via adenylate kinase and inhibits ADP formation from A5P plus ATP by 3- to 4-fold^[2].
Adenosine tetraphosphate does not participate in the yeast inorganic pyrophosphate-ATP pyrophosphate exchange reaction^[2].

Others

Adenosine tetraphosphate from horse muscle yields adenine upon acid hydrolysis, confirming adenine as the base component^[2].
