Description

LDH-IN-5 is a Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) inhibitor with neuroprotective activity. LDH-IN-5 can inhibit cell apoptosis, reduce ROS, MDA production and increases superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. LDH-IN-5 can be used for the research of neurological disease, such as ischemic stroke[1].

In Vitro

LDH-IN-5 (Compound s6b) (12.5-50 μM, 6h) significantly increases cell viability and reduces LDH release in mouse hippocampal neuron HT22 cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

LDH-IN-5 (Compound s6b) (125-500 μg/mL, 18 h) significantly reduces the incidence of cerebral thrombosis in 2dpf albino zebrafish models induced by Ponatinib (HY-12047)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: 2dpf albino zebrafish models induced by Ponatinib (HY-12047)[1]
Dosage: 125-500 μg/mL
Administration: 18 h
Result: Showed the thrombosis incidence decreases by 97% in the 125 μg/mL dose group and 77% in the 500 μg/mL dose group.
Showed no zebrafish death or obvious toxicity at 500 μg/mL.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
