Description

Linoleyl alcohol, a structural analog of Linoleic acid with no a-carboxyl group, is a fatty alcohol[1].

In Vitro

The dioxygenation of Linoleyl alcohol by potato tuber lipoxygenase leads to formation of two positional isomeric products-9- and 13-hydroperoxyoctadecadien-1-ols[1].

MCE has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Animal feeding experiments have revealed that esters made from Gallic acid (GA) and (-)-Epigallo-catechin (EGC) or Linoleyl alcohol are more effective in weight-loss promotion and metabolic syndrome management than are intact GA and EGC[2].

MCE has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
