Merulinic acid (8-94 μM; 5 min) inhibits the activity of purified AChE from Electrophorus electricus by a maximum of 40%, with an IC50 value >94 μM[1].
Merulinic acid (20-213 μM; 10 min) induces conformational changes in purified AChE from Electrophorus electricus, decreasing the intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence F/F0 ratio by approximately 80% at concentrations up to 213 μM, without shifting the fluorescence emission maximum[1].
