Norbornane
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Norbornane is a component of the essential oil extracted from the rhizomes of Cyperus rotundus from Morocco. Active derivatives of Norbornane are fused heterocyclic compounds with in vitro anti-tumor and anti-Trypanosoma brucei activities. Norbornane and its derivatives can be used in research related to cancers such as leukemia and African trypanosomiasis.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Norbornane accounts for 0.09% of the essential oil extracted from the rhizomes of Cyperus rotundus L. from Morocco, and this result is confirmed by GC-MS analysis[1].
Norbornane-fused thiopyranothiazole active derivatives selectively restrain leukemia cells and completely inhibit colon cancer cell proliferation, while related analogs suppress Trypanosoma brucei. These derivatives bind targets via hydrophobic interactions and induce tumor cell cycle arrest and apoptosis[2].
