EphA5

EphA5, also called ECK, EPH-2 or Tyro4, is an EphA receptor with prominent expression in the developing and adult nervous system as well as in lung and testis. Interactions with ephrin-A ligands regulate axon guidance, dendritic spine morphology and hippocampal-dependent synaptic plasticity, and EphA5 signaling has been linked to reward-related behavior and addiction circuitry. In oncology, elevated EphA5 expression has been reported in prostate and lung cancers, where it may drive migration and invasion. Recombinant EphA5 extracellular domain reagents facilitate ephrin-A binding analyses and studies of Eph-ephrin bidirectional signaling in neural and tumor contexts.
