Description

Schekwangsienin is a triterpenoid compound isolated from the aerial parts of Schefflera kwangsiensis. Schekwangsienin exhibits hepatoprotective activity and can be used in studies on liver injury[1].

In Vitro

Schekwangsienin (10 μM; 25 h) exhibits significant hepatoprotective activity against D-galactosamine-induced damage in HL-7702 cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Viability Assay[1]

Cell Line: HL-7702
Concentration: 10 μM
Incubation Time: 1 h pre-incubation prior to 24 h D-galactosamine exposure
Result: Increased cell survival rate to 91.8 % of normal cells.
Inhibited D-galactosamine-induced cell damage by 76.8%.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
