Desmosterol is a cholesterol-like molecule. In the Bloch pathway of cholesterol biosynthesis, Desmosterol is a direct precursor of cholesterol. As an endogenous metabolite, Desmosterol is used to study cholesterol metabolism . Desmosterol is an LXR activator and SREBP inhibitor, which can suppress macrophage inflammasome activation and prevent vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis. A reduction in Desmosterol promotes the production of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) in macrophages and pyrin domain-dependent inflammasome activation of NLRP3. Desmosterol holds potential for research in inflammation, metabolism, and cardiovascular diseases .

P2Y14R antagonist 1 (compound I-17) is a selective P2Y14R antagonist with an IC50 of 0.6 nM. It exhibits potent P2Y14R antagonistic activity, both in vitro and in vivo efficacy, and favorable pharmacokinetic profiles. P2Y14R antagonist 1 reduces the release of inflammatory factors and cell pyroptosis through the NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3)/gasdermin D (GSDMD) signaling pathway. P2Y14R antagonist 1 holds promise for research in the field of acute gouty arthritis .

Desmosterol (Standard) is the analytical standard of Desmosterol. This product is intended for research and analytical applications. Desmosterol is a cholesterol-like molecule. In the Bloch pathway of cholesterol biosynthesis, Desmosterol is a direct precursor of cholesterol. As an endogenous metabolite, Desmosterol is used to study cholesterol metabolism [1]. Desmosterol holds potential for research in inflammation, metabolism, and cardiovascular diseases [1][2][3].

Inflammasomes are classic pattern recognition receptors for natural immune responses. Inflammasomes are polymeric protein complexes that regulate inflammatory responses and pyrolytic cell death, thereby exerting the host's defense against microorganisms. Inflammasomes sensors are associated with adapter proteins, activating inflammatory caspase-1, releasing inflammatory cytokines and inducing cell death, endowing the host with defense against pathogens. NLRP1, NLRP3, NLRC4, AIM2, and pyrin are considered typical inflammasomes because they convert cysteine asparaginase-1 into catalytically active capsaicin-1. In addition to infectious diseases, the importance of inflammasomes is also related to various clinical diseases, such as autoimmune diseases, neurodegeneration and metabolic disorders, and the development of cancer. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly regulate the activation and function of inflammasomes to avoid accidental host tissue damage while inducing pathogens to kill the inflammatory response.

MCE designs a unique collection of 178 inflammasomes related compounds. It is a good tool to be used for research on Inflammation, cancer and other diseases.
