Description

Tet1 peptide is a peptide that specifically binds to neurons. Tet1 peptide binds to GT1B ganglioside and trisialoganglioside clostridial toxin receptor on the surface of neuronal cells, and can be used in peptide conjugation and drug delivery research[1][2].

In Vitro

Tet1 peptide conjugated with PEGylated poly(2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (PEG-PDMAEMA) forms siRNA nanocomplexes capable of achieving specific siRNA delivery to neurons[1].
Tet1 peptide functionalized on polymersomes and administered via cochleostomy mediates targeting of the polymersomes to the rat cochlear nerve; however, no targeting effect was observed following transtympanic injection.[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Tet1 peptide-modified CT/siRNA nanocomplexes (60 μg siRNA per mouse; i.v.; single dose) achieve enhanced brain accumulation and localize near neurons in healthy ICR mice[1].
Tet1 peptide-modified CT/siRNA nanocomplexes (32 μg siRNA per mouse; i.v.; single dose) deliver siRNA to the brain of healthy ICR mice with a DTI of 2.62 and peak accumulation of 2.42 %ID/g-brain at 1 hour post-injection[1].
Tet1 peptide-modified CT/BACE1-siRNA nanocomplexes (80 μg siRNA per mouse; i.v.; every 5 days; 4 total doses) restore cognitive performance to wild-type levels, reduce BACE1 mRNA by ~27.6%, lower amyloid plaque burden by ~87.5%, and protect neurons while promoting neurogenesis in 8-month-old APP/PS1 Alzheimer's disease model mice[1].
Tet1 peptide-functionalized PEG-b-PCL polymersomes (40-100 µL; transtympanic injection, bilateral; cochleostomy, unilateral, via osmotic pump connected to scala tympani; single dose; 3 days duration) uniquely target tractus spiralis foraminosus region nerve fibers when delivered via cochleostomy, while sharing non-specific inner ear tissue distribution with control polymersomes across both delivery routes, and do not target the cochlear nerve via transtympanic injection (a pattern consistent across all PM types)[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
