Cat. No.: HY-W076740
Handling Instructions

8-Bromoadenine (8-Bromo-9H-purin-6-amine) is a DNA radiosensitizer that inhibits DNA single-strand break repair in cells. 8-Bromoadenine is a brominated derivative of adenine, and radioactive adenine can be prepared by replacing bromine with deuterium.

Description

8-Bromoadenine (8-Bromo-9H-purin-6-amine) is a DNA radiosensitizer that inhibits DNA single-strand break repair in cells. 8-Bromoadenine is a brominated derivative of adenine, and radioactive adenine can be prepared by replacing bromine with deuterium[1][2].

In Vitro

8-Bromoadenine (0.1 mM; 30-90 min) inhibits DNA single-strand break repair in HeLa-M cell monolayer cultures. And after γ irradiation, the quality of DNA synthesized by cells is lower than that of DNA synthesized by cells without purine addition[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
