Fosfructose trisodium (Diphosphofructose trisodium, Esafosfan trisodium, FDP trisodium) is a cytoprotective natural sugar phosphate used in research on cardiovascular ischemia, sickle cell anemia, and asthma. Fosfructose trisodium acts by stimulating anaerobic glycolysis, which produces adenosine triphosphate under ischemic conditions.

Fosfructose trisodium (50-200 mg/g; oral; continuous feeding in artificial diet) enhances glycolysis in Hyphantria cunea larvae, induces 100% corrected mortality at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/g with dose-dependent speed, restricts larval growth and development, and disrupts chitin biosynthesis by altering pathway gene expression and tissue chitin levels[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Animal Model:native stock pig (female, 8-10 weeks old, hypothermic circulatory arrest-induced organ injury model)[1]
-
Dosage:500 mg/kg (before hypothermic circulatory arrest); 500 mg/kg (after hypothermic circulatory arrest)
-
Administration:i.v.; 15-minute infusion (before hypothermic circulatory arrest); 30-minute infusion (after hypothermic circulatory arrest)
-
Result:Achieved an 83.3% 7‑day survival rate.
Elevated venous phosphate and sodium levels, blood osmolarity, and improved postoperative fluid balance, while significantly reducing venous ionized calcium.
Decreased intracranial pressure, venous CK‑MB levels (at 30 min), and brain lactate‑pyruvate ratio (at the end).
Lowered total brain histopathologic scores, including thalamic and hippocampal injury, cortical edema, and dark/eosinophilic neurons (total and thalamic).
-
Animal Model:Lepidoptera: Arctiidae larvae (3rd and 5th instar, reared under controlled laboratory conditions)[2]
-
Dosage:50 mg/g; 100 mg/g; 200 mg/g
-
Administration:p.o.; continuous feeding in artificial diet
-
Result:Resulted in 100% corrected mortality, reduced larval weight, food intake, pupation rate and pupal weight and delayed molting.
Enhanced HK, PFK, PK activities, upregulated HcHK2, HcPFK, HcPK, HcTre1, HcCHSB, decreased glucose and increased pyruvate levels in midgut and fat body, downregulated HcGNA, HcPAGM, HcUAP, HcCHSA, reduced epidermal chitin content, and increased midgut chitin content.

For the following dissolution methods, please prepare the working solution directly:
It is recommended to prepare fresh solutions and use them promptly within a short period of time.
The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.
