Description

Antimalarial agent 56 is an orally active antimalarial agent. Antimalarial agent 56 inhibits the growth of both drug-sensitive and drug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum strains in vitro. Antimalarial agent 56 can be used in malaria research[1].

In Vitro

Antimalarial agent 56 (WR319535) inhibits the growth of Plasmodium falciparum strains W2, D6, C235, and C2A with IC90 values ranging from 75 to 275 ng/mL, and has a macrophage cytotoxicity LC50 of 4110 ng/mL[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Antimalarial agent 56 (WR319535) (160 mg/kg; p.o.; daily; 3 consecutive days) produces a 7-day delay in mortality in Plasmodium berghei-infected ICR mice[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
