Antimalarial agent-71
Antimalarial agent-71 is an antimalarial agent and antioxidant. Antimalarial agent-71 is computationally predicted to bind within the PfNDH2 binding pocket, which is located on the type II NADH dehydrogenase of the mitochondrial electron transport chain. Antimalarial agent-71 inhibits the growth of Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 parasites in whole-cell assays. Antimalarial agent-71 scavenges DPPH free radicals. Antimalarial agent-71 can be used in research on malaria and antioxidation.

Description
In Vitro
Antimalarial agent-71 (PPA3) exhibits the highest antiplasmodial activity among the synthesized chromene derivatives against the Chloroquine (HY-17589A)-sensitive Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 strain, with an IC50 of 0.62 μg/mL (≈1.01 μM)[1].
Antimalarial agent-71 exhibits the strongest antioxidant activity among the synthesized chromene derivatives in the DPPH radical scavenging assay, with an IC50 of 17.6 μg/mL[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only. .
