BE21349 is a carbonic anhydrase (CA) inhibitor with Ki values of 2090, 17.1, 61.8, and 40.5 nM against hCA I, hCA II, hCA IX, and hCA XII, respectively. BE21349 exhibits submicromolar inhibitory activity against leukemia, non-small cell lung cancer, and melanoma cell lines. BE21349 can be used in cancer-related research such as leukemia, non-small cell lung cancer, and melanoma.

BE21349 (0.01-100 μM; 48 h) demonstrates broad, potent antiproliferative activity across the NCI-60 human tumor cell line panel, with submicromolar GI50 values in multiple leukemia, melanoma, central nervous system, and ovarian cell lines, and exhibits both cytostatic (TGI) and cytotoxic (LC50) effects in a large subset of tested cell lines[1].

Identified the most sensitive cell line as leukemia SR (GI50 = 0.17 μM).
Observed submicromolar GI50 values in leukemia CCRF-CEM (0.32 μM), HL-60(TB) (0.62 μM), MOLT-4 (0.59 μM), nonsmall cell lung cancer NCI-H322M (0.76 μM), central nervous system SF-268 (0.43 μM), melanoma LOX IMVI (0.44 μM), SK-MEL-2 (0.71 μM), SK-MEL-28 (0.56 μM), SK-MEL-5 (0.74 μM), and ovarian OVCAR-3 (0.29 μM).
Reported TGI values ranging from 0.33−79.43 μM, with 26 cell lines showing TGI < 10 μM.
Observed LC50 values < 100 μM in 18 cell lines, ranging from 0.66-91.2 μM.
Recorded IC50 values < 1 μM in 6 cell lines, with an additional 25 cell lines showing single-digit micromolar IC50 values.
